The POLIS Project on Ecological Governance (http://www.polisproject.org/) is a transdisciplinary centre for research and action established in 2000 by the Eco-Research Chair at the University of Victoria, British Columbia. Our mission is to cultivate ecological governance through innovative research, policy analysis and legal reform, as well as through education and community action.

The Water Sustainability Project (WSP) (http://poliswaterproject.org/) began in 2003 and is focused on reorienting Canadian water management from a supply development approach toward stewardship and managing demand as priorities for governments and decision makers. Our work at the WSP is guided by the belief that sustainable urban water management in Canada must be grounded in a focus on conserving the resource and protecting ecological function.

Over the years the WSP team has focused on producing a number of high quality and accessible research-based publications that are used to promote sustainable water management on many levels. These represent a substantial body of research and publications that we distribute as widely as possible through our growing network of water managers, experts, NGOs, members of the business sector and other academics.

The Communications Assistant will assist the WSP team to enhance the project’s communication capacity by further disseminating our research, and expand community engagement in an effort to develop sustainable water management in Canada.

Water Canada (http://watercanada.net/) magazine is committed to serving the country’s water industry leaders with national news coverage, relevant case studies, and insightful contents that promotes stewardship of Canada’s water and quality water for all Canadians. Here, key players come together to explore and discuss innovative solutions for the management of our most important natural resource. Water Canada is the only magazine dedicated to the Canadian water industry.
