Constance MacIntosh is an Associate Professor with Dalhousie’s Faculty of Law. Her work as a legal scholar has focused upon state-Aboriginal relationships, with a particular emphasis upon how jurisdictional and political divisions have impacted upon initiatives to improve the standard of health experienced by Aboriginal peoples, as well as upon initiatives to address the continuing water quality issues experienced by many reserve communities. She is currently involved in a community-university research project which aims to develop a sustainable watershed management relationship between a number of Mi’kmaq and neighbouring communities.
Constance was recently honoured by being a recipient in the last round of the Law Commission of Canada’s Legal Dimensions Initiatives Awards, for work on remedying social and economic inequalities within Aboriginal communities
