This paper provides insights and specific recommendations into incorporating traditional knowledge into biodiversity decision-making. It sought examples of legal, non-legal and other practical tools that would facilitate the protection and application of traditional knowledge and expertise in biodiversity conservation and management.

This case study was conducted in the framework of the consultative process towards an International Mechanism Of Scientific Expertise on Biodiversity (IMoSEB).
